“Just Wait”

Yesterday, I asked my social media audience what TWO WORDS they’d say to their younger selves.  The answers were awesome.  “Stay strong”.  “Trust instincts” . “Love Life” . “Trust yourself”.

I’d tell the old me “Just wait.”

When I look back, I can’t believe all that i have accomplished and lived through to get to this point!  And every day is STILL magical.  No matter what it brings.

Think about it.

  • What obstacles have you lived through?
  • What surprises have you uncovered?
  • How many lives have you touched?

If I’d have met the Nora of 11 years ago, I’m sure she was even more overwhelmed as she had baby number six.  I know she was probably stressing over how to lose the baby weight and baby fat.  I know she was frantic trying to find household help to make sure the other kids got to the bus stop in the snow.  I’m almost positive she wasn’t asking for help.

Fast forward eleven years.  My kids are off to college.  I don’t worry about body image or body fat anymore.  I’m strong enough and free enough to tackle all the household chores by myself.  I started my own company.

The old Nora maybe didn’t even dream it.

She just showed up every damn day.

When you think you’re overwhelmed, tell yourself “just wait.”

Think about where you have been, what you have survived.

Sometimes the where we WANT to go isn’t where we need to go.  Maybe our instincts guide us.

Maybe we learn to trust ourselves with age.

When i tell myself “just wait”, i know the best is yet to come.  I’ve seen it happen over and over again in my life.

Appreciate and be grateful for where you have been.  Trust that the best is always yet to come.

“Just wait.”
